摘 要:在学术史视野下考察《撒马尔罕的金桃》,结合文本细读与比较分析,可以发现薛爱华继承欧洲汉学语文学传统,并借鉴人类学范式,在结构、内容上均有所突破,将名物研究推至名物文化史的新境地。名物文化史将名物研究的终点由名物自身拓展至文化史,以名物考证为取径,借鉴语文学、物质文化史和人类学研究,建立起一幅立体的历史文化图景。名物文化史既重视物的文化史,又强调物必须借助名流传,因此应当兼顾二者,在立足文本的同时回到历史文化语境,赋予琐碎的考证更深远的文化关怀,实现凡解释一“名物”即是作一部文化史。By studying The Golden Peaches of Samarkand from the perspective of academic history,with a close reading and comparative analysis of the text,we find that Edward H.Schafer inherited the tradition of European Chinese philology and drew lessons from the anthropological paradigm,and made breakthroughs in structure and content,pushing the study of the Onomatology of things into the realm of the cultural history of Object-Names.The cultural history of Object-Names expands the Onomatology of things from the objects themselves to cultural history,using textual research as a method and integrating insights from philology,material culture studies,and anthropology to establish a multi-dimensional historical picture.We should balance both aspects of objects and names,remaining rooted in the text while returning to the historical context,thereby endowing the meticulous textual research with greater cultural significance,and achieving the ideal that“interpreting an Object-Name is akin to constructing a cultural history”.
