The Spring Festival travel season in China, known as"Chunyun",represents the world's largest human migration. The network structure, economic spillover effects, and distance decay characteristics formed during this period are crucial for comprehending the formation and development of China's urban agglomerations and metropolitan areas. This study utilizes 2019 Chunyun migration data from Gaude to construct a population mobility network, analyzing the structural characteristics of China's urban population mobility network.Using spatial econometric models,we calculate the impact of population mobility on urban economic spillovers and discuss the distance decay effect of these spillovers. The conclusions are as follows:(1)The urban population mobility network in China exhibits a diamond structure, with major cities demonstrating strong external control and dissemination capabilities.(2)There is a positive correlation between urban population mobility and urban economic development in China, where degree centrality promotes both urban economic growth and economic spillovers.(3)The impact of population mobility on urban economic spillovers has spatial boundaries, with significant spillovers occurring within 500 km between cities and stronger spillovers observed at distances of 300to 400km.
