The question of whether the E-commerce industry leads to an increase in carbon emissions has been a subject of significant debate in foreign literature. Therefore, this paper conducts a comprehensive analysis of relevant foreign literature centered on this theme, starting from the perspective of the supply chain to outline the impact of e-commerce on carbon emissions across various stages and scenarios. After researching key English-language literature, the following findings have been identified:the carbon footprint of E-commerce is primarily derived from consumer behavior, logistics transportation, warehousing management and packaging materials;the shopping patterns of consumers and the types of products influence the carbon emissions of E-commerce;the use of new energy sources and drone technology in logistics transportation can reduce the carbon emissions of E-commerce,but this approach faces challenges related to the labor market;the carbon emission effects of E-commerce activities vary across different regions.Future research will focus on how to scientifically implement carbon emission management in E-commerce,explore more effective emission reduction strategies and promote the enhancement of social welfare.
