中医典籍外译的“大翻译”路径探索——以《本草纲目》的两次西方译介热潮为例

摘　　要：任何知识的流动都有翻译的在场,从跨学科角度对原文进行语际/符际的分析、阐释、改写、改编、重写和引用构成了知识传译的多种方式。《本草纲目》所经历的两次译介热潮实质上是西方博物学家与药理学家从跨学科视角所做的多模态、多层次知识传译,它超越了“语言中心主义”的范式,一方面回应了“大翻译”的概念,同时也给中医药典籍翻译的传统模式提出了启示——超越“狭隘”的、“忠实”的以本为本的文本翻译,聚焦更大格局与层面上进行的集体性、协约性的多符号跨学科的翻译行为。Where knowledge flows,translation follows.Analyzing,explaining,adapting,rewriting,and even citing the original text interlingually and inter-semiotically from an interdisciplinary perspective also serve as forms of knowledge dissemination and translation.The two translation booms of the Compendium of Materia Medica in western countries exemplify this phenomenon,representing multimodal and multilevel translations carried out by Western naturalists and pharmacologists.These efforts transcend the traditional paradigm of"language centrism"and align with the emerging concept of"big translation."This study highlights the implications of"big translation"strategies for traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)classics in foreign languages.It argues for moving beyond a narrow focus on"faithful",text-based translation and embracing the inter-semiotic and interdisciplinary translation strategies based on collective and compromised significances.
