摘　　要：朱利安·巴恩斯(Julian Barnes)是英国著名的小说家和文化评论家,后现代主义文学家,在英国文坛颇具影响力,也是英国文坛三大巨头之一。本文探讨了巴恩斯在其作品中如何处理个体记忆与历史真实之间的关系。通过对巴恩斯的小说进行深入分析,发现他以独特而细腻的笔触刻画了人物思维的碎片化、似是而非的回忆。在肯定个体记忆的建构性基础上,巴恩斯对历史中人物的自我身份、生命真实和日常生活进行了批判性审视。他探索了记忆与历史之间的互动关系,以及记忆对于塑造个体与社会认同、理解历史影响的重要性。通过研究巴恩斯的作品,可以更好地帮助理解记忆在认识和理解过去中的作用,有助于深化对于文学作品和历史叙事的理解,为思考主观记忆和个体生活提供了新视角。Julian Barnes is a renowned British novelist and cultural critic,a postmodernist writer who holds significant influence in the British literary scene,and one of the three major figures in British literature.This paper explores how Barnes addresses the relationship between individual memory and historical truth in his works.Through an in-depth analysis of Barnes’s novels,we find that he portrays the fragmentation of characters’thoughts and ambiguous memories with a unique and delicate touch.Affirming the constructive nature of individual memory,Barnes critically examines the self-identity,life authenticity,and everyday experiences of historical figures.He explores the interaction between memory and history,as well as the importance of memory in shaping individual and social identities and understanding the impact of history.By studying Barnes’s works,we can better understand the role of memory in recognizing and comprehending the past,which deepens our understanding of literary works and historical narratives,providing a new perspective for contemplating subjective memory and individual life.
