贸易自由化促进了我国企业创新吗?——基于贸易政策不确定性视角

摘　　要：本文以中国加入WTO获得美国永久最惠国待遇这一事件为背景,运用1998-2006年各个层面的样本数据,探究了贸易政策不确定性与企业创新的关系。本文的研究表明,贸易政策不确定性降低显著地促进了我国企业的创新行为。具体地,贸易政策不确定性下降显著地促进了企业创新规模的扩张,但对企业创新质量的影响有限。异质性分析结果表明,贸易政策不确定性下降主要促进了企业实用专利和外观专利数量的增长,对发明专利的影响较小。进一步研究发现,这种促进作用在高生产率企业、市场化水平较高地区、外资企业和民营企业、出口企业以及持续存在企业样本中更加显著。本文为研究贸易自由化与企业创新的关系提供了新的视角。Based on the incident of China's entrance into the WTO and obtaining permanent most-favored-nation treatment from the United States,this paper explores the relationship between trade policy uncertainty and corporate innovation with an analysis on the sample data from 1998 to 2006 at various levels.The research shows that the reduction of trade policy uncertainty significantly promotes the innovation behavior of Chinese enterprises.Specifically,the decline of trade policy uncertainty significantly promotes the expansion in the scale of corporate innovation,but has a limited impact on the quality of corporate innovation.The results of heterogeneity analysis show that the decreasing trade policy uncertainty mainly promotes the increase in the number of utility patents and design patents of enterprises,and has less impact on invention patents.Further,this promotion effect is more significant in the samples of highproductivity enterprises,regions with a high level of marketization,foreign-funded enterprises and private enterprises,exporting enterprises,and persistent enterprises.This paper provides a new perspective for studying the relationship between trade liberalization and enterprise innovation.
