In the female reproductive system, the cervix occupies a pivotal position, and it plays a vital role in protecting women's health. However, the cervix will be invaded by various microorganisms constantly, which will eventually cause lesions and develop into cervical cancer. As a major risk factor threatening women's health, cervical cancer has attracted widespread attention. In fact, the vast majority of cervical cancers are caused by infection with the human papilloma virus(HPV).Scientists have been working on building appropriate models in vitro and in vivo to study HPV infection, the occurrence and development of cervical cancer and other processes. This review mainly introduces the disease background of cervical cancer and the current relevant models in vivo and in vitro based on cervical disease research, including transgenic mouse models, xenograft models, cell line-based cell culture models, and organoid models.
