Objective To explore the distribution characteristics of procalcitonin(PCT)and C-reactive protein(CRP)of patients with different bacterial flora infections during blood culture. Methods The paper reviewed and analyzed clinical data of 299 suspected patients with bloodstream infections in our hospital from January 2021 to December 2023,and divided them into infection group(n=146)and non infection group(n=153)based on positive blood culture results.Clinical basic information and serum PCT and CRP levels were compared between two groups. The infected patients were divided into Gram positive bacteria(G+)subgroup(n=101)and Gram negative bacteria(G-)subgroup(n=43),changes in serum PCT and CRP levels were compared between two subgroups. Results Serum levels of PCT and CRP in infection group were higher than non infection group(P<0.05).Main infectious bacteria were G-,accounting for 69.18%,G+accounting for 29.45%and fungi for 1.37%.Levels of PCT and CRP in the G-subgroup were significantly higher than the G+subgroup(P<0.05).Conclusion There are significant difference in serum PCT and CRP levels of patients with different bacterial flora infections during blood culture, which can serve as important biological indicators for determining type of pathogen.
