地方官绅的互动:史梦兰与游智开的往来

摘　　要：直隶乐亭举人史梦兰学问淹通,著述宏富,是晚清畿东文人中的大家。虽有机会入仕,却以亲老未就、在家中养老尊亲,含饴弄孙。湖南新化举人游智开,由拣选知县辗转升任永平府知府。二人年龄相近,惺惺相惜。游智开上任后,筑城堞,治楼橹,修书院,葺义学,剔除时弊,体恤民情。史梦兰也受邀参与部分地方事务,主持修志,多次代游智开撰文并删定其个人诗集。游智开任职永平期间,史梦兰与其情投意合,相得益彰,乡贤与名宦结为莫逆之交。Shi Menglan,a scholar in Laoting,Zhili,was one of the literati in late Qing Dynasty.Although there was an opportunity to enter the officialdom,he chose to retire at home to take care of the old and the young.You Zhikai,a member of Xinhua,Hunan,was promoted from Supervisor of the County to magistrate of Yongping Prefecture.The two were of similar ages,and they understood each other.After taking office,You Zhikai built city walls,repaired battle equipment,set up academies,repaired schools,eliminated current problems,and showed empathy for the people.Shi Menglan was also invited to participate in some local affairs.He presided over the compilation of chronicles,and wrote articles on behalf of You Zhikai,as well as edited his personal poetry collection.During the tenure of You Zhikai in Yongping,they two admired each other and formed an unbreakable friendship.
