摘　　要：《生命之书》是克里希纳·索波蒂对印巴分治前旁遮普地区乡村生活的全景式描摹,也被认为是一部历史小说。旁遮普地区独特的地理特征和文化背景为克里希纳·索波蒂的创作提供了丰富的素材,她在这部小说中再现了该地区的自然风光和社会景观,展现了印度历史变迁下的人文地理空间。小说不仅是理解旁遮普社会文化的重要参考,也提供了对印巴分治前社会复杂性的深刻洞察。文章通过文学地理学的视角打开《生命之书》,试图探索地理空间在索波蒂乡村叙事中的重要性,并在此基础上深入理解分治前该地区的历史、文化和社会结构。Zindaginam offers a panoramic portrayal of village life in the Punjab region prior to the Partition of India,and is also regarded as a historical novel by Krishna Sobti.The distinctive geographical characteristics and rich cultural backdrop of the Punjab region afforded Sobti a wealth of material for her creative endeavor.In this novel,she recreates the area’s natural landscapes and social-cultural environment,revealing the human geographical spaces amid the historical transformations of India.This book serves not only as a vital resource for understanding Punjab society and its cultural memory but also provides deep insights into the societal complexities existing before the Partition of India.By adopting a literary geographical perspective,the article seeks to examine the importance of geographical space in Sobti’s rural narratives,thereby aiming for a comprehensive understanding of Punjab’s history,culture,and social framework.
