唐代保州地望及其移治天保军新论  

New Insights into the Location of Baozhou in the Tang Dynasty and Its Relocation to Tianbaojun

摘　　要：开元二十八年唐朝析维州定廉县置保州,定廉县在今理县以东的薛城,而非以往学者所言的理县西侧朴头镇。天宝八载,保州移治西130里的天保军,其地约在薛城西北的柏树桥一带。保州西北的盐溪路是唐蕃往来的重要通道,唐前期白狗羌、索磨诸部以及小左封羌等都由此路内附与朝贡。天保军的设置及保州移治天保军,标志着唐朝由保州盐溪路经营弱水八国的交通格局正式形成,史书中经常出现的滴博岭路实际就是盐溪路。反观维州西侧的沱水大路因长期为吐蕃控制,且道路相对迂远,并非唐朝经营的重点。In the 28th year of the Kaiyuan era(740),the Tang Dynasty established Baozhou by separating Dinglian County from Weizhou.Contrary to previous scholarly assertions,Dinglian County was located in Xuecheng,to the east of present-day Lixian County,rather than in Poutou Town on the western side of Lixian County.In the 8th year of the Tianbao era(749),Baozhou was relocated 130 li(approximately 65 kilometers)west to Tianbaojun,which is believed to correspond to the area around Baishuqiao,northwest of Xuecheng.The Yanxi Road,located to the northwest of Baozhou,served as a crucial route for interactions between the Tang Dynasty and Tubo(吐蕃).During the early Tang period,various tribes,including the Baigou Qiang,Suomo,and Xiaozuofeng Qiang,utilized this road to submit to and pay tribute to the Tang court.The establishment of Tianbaojun and the subsequent relocation of Baozhou to this site marked the formal development of a transportation network along Yanxi Road,intended to managing the Eight Qiang Tribes in Western Jian Nan.Historical records frequently refer to the Diboling Road,which is essentially synonymous with Yanxi Road.In contrast,the Tuoshui Main Road on the western side of Weizhou,which was under long-term Tubo control and featured a more circuitous route,did not become a focal point of Tang Dynasty administration.
