摘　　要：约翰·福尔斯的小说《巫术师》中的人物塑造、情景设定、主题思想等均挑战了社会达尔文主义的“适者生存”观点,传达了反社会达尔文主义的思想倾向。这种思想倾向不单单只是一种对社会发展的看法,更是一种对社会现实的批判,其核心理念是推崇尊重个体价值和追求社会公平正义的人文精神。The characterization,scene setting,and thematic ideas in John Fowles’novel The Magus challenge the view point“survival of the fittest”of Social Darwinism,indicating the anti-Social Darwinism tendency in the work.This tendency is not only a view of social development,but also a criticism of social reality.Its core idea is to promote the humanistic spirit of respecting individual values and pursuing social fairness and justice.
