Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)is a common, preventable and treatable chronic respiratory disease.COPD is considered a moderate risk factor for pulmonary embolism(PE).Because the clinical symptoms of acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(AECOPD)are similar to those of PE,PE is often delayed in diagnosis and treatment, and the prognosis of the AECOPD complicated with PE patients is severely affected. At present, the pathogenesis of AECOPD complicated with PE is still unclear, and the diagnosis and treatment strategies need to be further improved. In this paper, the latest progress in the study of AECOPD complicated with PE is reviewed.
