摘　　要：中国西部博物馆于1943年底由中国西部科学院等学术单位发起筹备,1944年底在北碚正式成立并对外开放。中国西部博物馆在筹建和运行期间始终存在经费短缺的问题,但依靠社会各界的积极捐赠和持续支持,不仅在较短时间内完成建设,还逐步丰富了展品种类和数量。相比之下,重庆科学馆虽然早在1941年便动议筹建,但由于资金匮乏,建设进度受阻,最终未能正式落成。中国西部博物馆和重庆科学馆为何走向了完全不同的结果?经费不足是两者都面临的问题,背后建设者的不同态度和努力或许是形成天壤之别的真正原因。At the end of 1943,academic institutions such as the Academy of Sciences of Western China initiated the preparation for the establishment of the Western China Museum.By the end of 1944,the museum was officially founded and began regular operations in Beibei.Despite persistent funding shortages during both its preparation and operation,the Western China Museum managed to complete construction in a relatively short time and gradually enriched its collection of exhibits,thanks to active donations and continuous support from various sectors of society.In contrast,although the Chongqing Science Museum had proposed its construction as early as 1941,progress was hindered due to a lack of funds,and it ultimately failed to be completed.Why did the Western China Museum and the Chongqing Science Museum have such different outcomes?While both faced financial difficulties,it is perhaps the differing attitudes and efforts of their respective founders that led to the stark contrast between the two.
