摘  要:海洋科学研究对于理解和保护我们的海洋环境、维持生物多样性、支持经济发展,并应对全球气候变化具有至关重要的作用。近年来,随着海洋监测范围的不断扩大,海洋数据的收集速度和量级呈指数级增长,这远远超出了传统科研方法的处理和分析能力,给海洋动态变化的分析带来了挑战。同时,海洋数据的快速增长为人工智能(artificial intelligence,AI)提供了丰富的训练材料,为AI的应用提供了广阔的舞台,AI的引入可以有效地处理和分析这些海量数据,通过自动化的方式提高数据处理的效率和准确性,为海洋科学研究提供了全新的视角和方法。基于Web of Science数据库,采用文献计量方法与工具,分析了8 021篇(2024年4月20日为止)AI海洋学研究的整体态势,结果表明:(1) 2020年前后全球AI海洋学研究呈现出爆发式增长;(2) 2017年中国发文数量超过美国,成为AI海洋学研究领域发文最多的国家;(3)环境科学、地球科学和遥感是发表论文最多的3个学科领域;(4) AI技术在海洋生态环境监测、生物多样性评估、海洋和大气现象识别与预报等领域应用较多。尽管AI方法在海洋科学研究应用中表现良好,显示出巨大潜力,但仍存在局限性。未来建议制定统一的海洋数据标准和协议,鼓励跨学科的研究合作,以更有效地利用AI技术挖掘海洋数据的潜力,为海洋保护和管理提供更深入的洞察和解决方案。Marine science plays a crucial role in comprehending and safeguarding our marine environments,maintaining biodiversity,fostering economic growth,and addressing global climate change.In recent years,the breadth of marine monitoring has been expanded significantly,leading to an exponential increase in marine data collection.This surge surpasses the processing and analytical capacities of conventional scientific methods,posing challenges in monitoring dynamic oceanic changes.Simultaneously,the rapid accumulation of marine data offers extensive training resources for artificial intelligence(AI),creating a broad platform for AI applications.The integration of AI can efficiently manage and analyze vast datasets,enhancing the precision and efficiency of data processing through automation.This approach introduces novel perspectives and methodologies for marine scientific research.Based on the Web of Science database,using bibliometric methods and tools,the overall situation of AI oceanography research with 8021 papers(retrieved on April 20,2024)was analyzed.The results show:①Around 2020,there was an explosive growth in global AI oceanography research.②In 2017,China’s publications overtook those of the United States,ranking in the first place of publications in AI marine research field.③Environmental science,earth science,and remote sensing are top three disciplines.④AI technology is widely applied in the fields of marine ecological environment monitoring,biodiversity assessment,and identification and forecasting of marine and atmospheric phenomena.Although AI methods show good performance and great potential in the application of oceanography,there are still limitations.It is recommended to establish unified data standards and protocols,encourage interdisciplinary research cooperation,in order to utilize effectively the potential of AI technology to mine ocean data,and provide deeper insights and solutions for marine protection and management.
