摘  要:侨僧竺摩法师在马来西亚驻锡近50年,在他一生的弘法实践中,基于自身的儒、佛理论素养及人生佛教理念,在儒佛会通方面形成了比较深入和完整的认识。在他看来,《大学》之“三纲(领)”构成了儒学的核心义理,与佛教的“三觉”有着内在的相通性,是儒佛会通的重要学理基础;“孝”代表着儒佛在伦理观念上的会通;“现实人生的改造”则是儒佛共同的教育宗旨。竺摩关于儒佛会通思想的讨论,总体看来比较具有体系性,且有理论深度,并体现了较为浓厚的时代色彩和个性特征。他在儒佛会通理念主导下的弘法实践,其影响已越出了宗教领域,可视为中华优秀传统文化海外教育和传播的一个典范。Venerable Chuk Mor was an overseas Chinese Buddhist monk who lived in Malaysia for fifty years.During his Buddhist ministry,he developed a comparatively deep and complete understanding of the compatibility of Confucianism and Buddhism based on his own studies and his humanistic Buddhist thought.In his opinion,the Three Guidelines of the Great Learning constitute the core Confucian principles and are inherently compatible with the Buddhist Three Kinds of Enlightenment,which provided an important theoretical foundation for Confucian-Buddhist conciliation.In Chuk Mor's understanding,“filial piety”represents the two traditions'compatibility in ethical ideas,and the“transformation of real life”is their common educational mission.Chuk Mor's discussion of Confucian-Buddhist compatibility is,on the whole,systematic and theoretically deep,reflecting the character of his times and his personal character fairly well.Guided by the idea of Confucian-Buddhist compatibility,his spreading of the Buddhist dharma has had an impact beyond the field of religion and can be seen as a model for teaching and disseminating traditional Chinese culture overseas.
