Against the backdrop of the widespread use of the internet and mobile devices, fragmented reading has become a common phenomenon.Although it provides a convenient way to access information and meets the needs of a fast-paced lifestyle,it has also raised concerns about deep knowledge absorption and critical thinking skills, posing challenges to in-depth reading and systematic learning. This study aimed to conduct an in-depth analysis of the characteristics and limitations of fragmented reading and explore ways to optimize it through the use of artificial intelligence generated content(AIGC) technology.Firstly, through a review of the literature, the concept and influencing factors of fragmented reading were clarified.Subsequently, the effectiveness of fragmented reading was evaluated from multiple dimensions, and its negative impacts on individual knowledge construction and social culture heritage were revealed. Then,a series of optimization strategies driven by AIGC technology were proposed. Finally, new demands that the above strategies place on the publishing industry were discussed. This study not only provided theoretical support and practical guidance for addressing the challenges of fragmented reading but also offered a new perspective for digital and intelligent transformation of the publishing industry.
