The complex spatial and temporal relationship between angiogenesis and osteogenesis has been termed"angiogenicosteogenic coupling".Angiogenesis is important for the bone formation process, and an angiogenic-osteogenic imbalance can lead to local mineralisation of bone tissue or vascular masses. The invasion of blood vessels is a prerequisite for bone formation, and their mutual coupling is a key factor in bone formation.Blood vessels not only provide nutrients, transport oxygen, growth factors and metabolic wastes for bone tissues, but also play a regulatory role in the various stages of vascularity and bone formation through vascular endothelial growth factor, angiopoietin, and so on.With the extensive research on tissue engineering in recent years, the role of vasculogenic-osteogenic coupling-related molecules in bone tissue engineering has been broadened. This paper intends to provide ideas for vascularisation of tissue-engineered bone by reviewing the relevant research results.
