单光谱热亚矮星质量分布  

Mass Distribution of Single-lined Hot Subdwarf

摘  要:热亚矮星是当前天文学研究的热点目标,它们与Ia型超新星前身星和引力波源直接相关,然而其形成机制还不完全清楚。当前双星演化理论预言了热亚矮星不同形成通道的质量分布。从观测上得到热亚矮星的质量分布对于理解热亚矮星的形成通道非常重要。利用归档的紫外到红外多波段测光巡天数据以及Gaia距离,对654颗单光谱热亚矮星进行能谱拟合并得到它们的质量分布。结果显示:贫氦热亚矮星样本的高斯拟合峰值质量在0.47 M⊙处,与双星星族合成模型预言的结果基本一致;富氦热亚矮星质量分布在非常宽的范围内,有44%的样本质量低于0.50 M⊙,双氦白矮星并合通道不能解释它们。Hot subdwarf stars are currently a hot target in astronomical research,as they are directly related to progenitor stars of Type Ia supernovae and gravitational wave sources.However,their formation mechanisms are not fully understood.The current theories of binary star evolution predict the mass distribution of hot subdwarfs through different formation channels.It is crucial to obtain their mass distribution from observations to uncover their formation pathways.By utilizing archived multi-band photometric survey data from ultraviolet to infrared,as well as Gaia distance measurements,we obtained the mass distribution of 654 single-lined hot subdwarfs through energy spectral fitting.The results show that,for the sample of helium-poor hot subdwarfs,the Gaussian fit peak is at 0.47 M⊙,which is consistent with the results predicted by binary population synthesis models.The mass distribution of helium-rich hot subdwarfs is wide,with 44%of the samples below 0.50 M⊙,which the merger channel of two helium white dwarfs cannot explain.
