摘  要:【背景】由于先进建模、管控与智能网联化技术的不断融入,可变限速控制技术作为高速公路交通控制的重要手段之一,正处于技术革新与建设落地并存、控制手段与控制对象不断演化的重要发展节点。【目标】探究迈向智能网联的可变限速控制技术演进路线与未来可能的发展方向,并帮助工程技术人员在进行相关应用和工程实践时,快速提取可能关注的核心要素。【方法】基于“控制目标-控制手段-控制策略-测试验证”逻辑链,对可变限速策略的技术演进和工程应用进行梳理,并使用Citespace工具对文献进行可视化分析。【数据】中国知网近10年(2013—2023)174篇相关文献,Web of Science近20年(2003—2024)978篇相关文献,以及美国、欧洲与国内14个较为典型的可变限速工程应用。【结论】梳理并验证了可变限速技术从理论技术突破到实际场景导向再到管控手法革新和要素精细化分析的发展历程,讨论了其在智能网联技术支撑下的“精细化-适用性-协同性”发展方向。[Background]Variable speed limit(VSL)control is one of the crucial highway traffic approaches.A series of innovative technologies and techniques—including but not limited to advanced modeling,control,operation,autonomy,and wireless communication—promise a bright future for VSL.The current status is featured with the coexistence of both established technologies and emerging innovations,reflecting the evolution of control schemes and targets,and marking a significant milestone in the history of VSL.[Objective]This study tries to further explore the evolution of VSL and identify opportunities for future research toward the era of connected and autonomous transportation,while supports engineers swiftly extract the core elements that may be of concern when conducting VSL engineering practices.[Methods]This paper first chronologically reviews the research evolution through four critical elements in a typical control system and the engineering application,i.e.,control objectives,control means,control strategies,and testing.The Citespace is used to visualize the key connections in the literature review.[Data]This study analyzes 174 relevant documents from CNKI in the past 10 years(2013-2023),978 relevant documents from Web of Science in the past 20 years(2003-2024),and 14 typical VSL engineering applications in the United States,Europe and China.[Conclusions]It is evident that VSL has progressed from theoretical breakthroughs to practical applications and further to innovations of control means with detailed factor considerations.This study also reveals three important research needs(i.e.refinement,applicability,and cooperation)with the development of connected and autonomous transportation.
