摘　　要：爱伦·坡是19世纪美国文学史上著名的诗人、小说家和文学评论家,他是浪漫主义时期的典型代表,在诗歌、小说和文学评论等方面的成就不容忽视。哥特式小说于18世纪在英国兴起,爱伦·坡对哥特式小说进行了继承,在其基础上,开创了美国科幻小说的先河和心理分析等文学体裁。探讨爱伦·坡哥特式小说的恐怖特点,对于深入分析爱伦·坡小说的内涵具有重要的意义。Edgar Allan Poe is a famous poet,novelist and literary critic in the history of 19th century American literature.He is a typical representative of the Romantic period,and his achievements in poetry,novels and literary criticism cannot be ignored.On the basis of inheriting gothic novels that emerged in 18th century England,Edgar Allan Poe creatively created literary genres such as psychoanalysis and pioneered American science fiction.Exploring the horror aesthetic characteristics of Edgar Allan Poe′s gothic novels is of great significance for in-depth analysis of the connotation of Edgar Allan Poe′s novels.
