Exploring the Dispute over the Lands of the Prince of Hui's Manor in the Ming Dynasty from an Omitted Royal Stele

摘　　要：藩王庄田是研究明代土地制度与宗藩制度的重要问题。以往研究成果表明,藩王庄田的来源渠道复杂,除了“钦赐”“奏讨”外,还有“购买”“强占”“自行开垦”等方式。然而,对藩王庄田的决策与落实情况的研究不够清晰,对藩王庄田与地方社会经济的联系探讨不足。结合新发现史料《重修钦赐归德州牛寺孤堆官庄兴福寺记》与嘉靖《亳州志》《明实录》等材料对照分析,以横跨河南与南直隶的徽王庄田为例,可以发现藩王庄田的落实并非一蹴而就,中央政权、地方官民与藩王派系之间存在着复杂的博弈过程。藩王庄田冲击了地方民生与税收,尽管藩王得到皇权的偏袒,但地方官府与豪民不断抗拒与争执。围绕藩王庄田的争讼持续不断,一直延续到清代。嘉靖《亳州志》对藩王庄田采取了批判态度,与官方立场并不一致,反映出明代地方志的书写意识存在一些自主性。The lands of feudal princes constitute a significant aspect for studying the land system and the system of feudal princes in the Ming Dynasty.Previous research has indicated that the sources of these lands were complex,encompassing not only"imperial grants"and"requests by feudal princes,"but also"purchases,""forced occupations,"and"self-reclamation."However,the decision-making and implementation processes concerning these lands remain unclear,and insufficient attention has been given to explore the connections between these lands and local socio-economic conditions.By comparing and analyzing newly discovered historical materials,such as the Record of the Reconstruction of Xingfu Temple Granted by the Emperor at the Official Manor of Niu Si Mound in Guide Zhou,the Bozhou Chronicles of the Jiajing period,and the Veritable Records of the Ming Dynasty,and taking the example of the lands of the Prince of Hui's manor spanning Henan and the South Zhili,it can be observed that the implementation of these lands was not achieved overnight.Instead,there was a complex game played among the central government,local officials and civilians,and the factions of the feudal princes.The lands of the feudal princes impacted local livelihoods and taxation.Although the feudal princes were favored by imperial power,local officials and landowners continuously resisted and disputed.The controversy and litigation surrounding the manor fields of feudal princes persisted and continued into the Qing Dynasty.The Bozhou Chronicles of the Jiajing period adopted a critical stance towards the lands of the feudal princes,which was inconsistent with the official position,reflecting some autonomy in the writing consciousness of local chronicles in the Ming Dynasty.
