摘　　要：John R Speakman is an internationally renowned scholar and authority in the field of energy metabolism.He has published>500 articles in Science,Nature,Cell Metabolism,and other journals,and has been cited>17000 times.He is one of very few scientists to be simultaneously a fellow of the UK,US,and Chinese National Academies,and was awarded the Chinese Academy of Sciences medal for international cooperation in 2015.John R Speakman has been working full-time in China for an extended period of time,in the Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology,Chinese Academy of Sciences since 2011 and then at Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology,Chinese Academy of Sciences since 2020.As the Editor-in-Chief of Life Metabolism,he plays an important role in establishing its'broad,international influence in the metabolism field.
