摘　　要：Parental care is a trait that shows tremendous diversity both within and across various animal taxa,constituting a focal point in evolutionary biology and behavioral ecology(Royle et al.2012;Kappeler 2022).It forms an integral part of an organism’s reproduction,development,and life history(Royle et al.2012).While maternal care,notably through lactation(i.e.milk provision),stands as the prevalent form among mammals(Power&Schulkin 2016);however,there is growing evidence showing that nonmammal vertebrates can also nurture offspring with milk-like substances(Satoh et al.2019).
