摘　　要：In the harvest season of September,I am very glad to meet our guests from both home and abroad in Shaoxing,a water town in the south of the Yangtze River,to exchange our views on canal civilisation.On behalf of the Chinese Association for International Understanding,I would like to extend my sincere welcome to all the distinguished guests and express my high respect to all the Chinese and foreign representatives devoted to the protection of the canal and the international exchanges of canal civilisation.
