莫里斯符号学视角下英语词源文化内涵的多模态教学重要性探究

摘  要:“语言是一种符号系统”的观念早已为学界所公认。作为语言的基本单位,词也具有符号性。如何根据词的符号性特征深挖其词源文化内涵,并将其词源文化内涵呈现出来,将有助于培养学生词汇习得的策略。研究拟采用莫里斯的语言符号意义观阐述其对英语词源文化内涵的多模态教学研究的必要性和重要性。The idea that language is a symbolic system has long been accepted by the academic circle.As the basic unit of language,words are also symbolic.How to dig into the cultural connotation of words according to their symbolic features and present it in a multi-modal teaching is helpful to develop students'vocabulary acquisition strategies.This study aims to use Morris's theory of linguistic semiotics to articulate the necessity and importance of multimodal teaching research on the etymological cultural connotations of English words.
