如何理解中国式“社区”?——对海外中国学知识谱系的解构与反思

摘　　要：自20世纪90年代以来,围绕如何理解中国社区这一核心主题,海外中国学形成了一套谱系性的知识体系。海外研究的早期观察,受到国家—社会二元分立框架的影响,或者将“社区”看作是市民社会的领域,或者将“社区”看作国家的触角。但是,当既有理论遇到经验解释的张力时,海外研究又逐渐超越国家—社会的分立框架,采用了新的分析途径。其中一种途径认为社区是在国家与社会相互关系中生成的,或者将社区看作国家与社会互动的产物,或者将社区看作国家与社会相互交织的产物。另一种途径则从微观层次上,将社区定位为空间。总体来说,海外研究常常从既有的西方理论出发,选择性地分析中国城市社区建设与发展中所存在的组织、行为与现象。要理解中国城市社区,需要重构基础概念,整合国家—社会关系与空间分析途径,从中国场景出发,建立中国式社区的基本原理。Since the 1990s,a genealogical body of knowledge has developed in overseas Chinese studies around the core theme of how to understand Chinese community.Early observations in overseas studies were influenced by the dichotomous framework of state and society,which either viewed"community"as the domain of civil society or as the reach of state.However,when the established theory encounters the tension of empirical interpretation,overseas studies have gradually transcended the framework of the state-society dichotomy and adopted new approaches.One approach sees community as being generated in the interrelationship between the state and society,or see community as a product of state-society interaction,or as a product of state-society intertwining.The other approach positions community as space at the micro level.Overall,overseas studies often start from established Western theories to selectively analyze the organizations,behaviors,and phenomena that exist in the construction and development of Chinese urban communities.To understand Chinese urban community,it is necessary to reconstruct the basic concepts,integrate state-society relationship and spatial analysis approaches,and establish the fundamentals of Chinese-style community from the Chinese scene.
