The components of renin-angiotensin system(RAS)not only play the important role in cardiovascular physiology and pathology, but also affects reproductive health due to highly expressed in penile tissues.RAS components are closely related to the pathogenesis of vascular erectile dysfunction(ED),and high expressions of ACE and AngⅡmay cause excessive activation of the ACE-AngⅡ-AT1R axis, which exerts a negative impact on erectile function, while increased expressions of ACE2 and Ang(1-7)may improve the activition of the ACE2-Ang(1-7)-Mas protective axis, which effectively strengthen erectile function.By reviewing the relevant studies between RAS components and vascular ED,this paper explores the possibility of RAS components as predictive indicators and new treatment targets for vascular ED,aims to provide new strategies to delay the development of ED,improve the prognosis of patients, and enhance their quality of life.
