评价理论视域下政府白皮书隐喻英译探赜——以《人类减贫的中国实践》为例

摘　　要：隐喻潜移默化地传递言者态度,其英译直接影响原文态度意义的传递效度。本文以《人类减贫的中国实践》白皮书为例,基于评价理论梳理其中隐喻类型,揭示隐喻态度表达机制,对照译文探析其英译策略。研究发现,文中概念隐喻以战争隐喻、道路隐喻、人体隐喻、中国特色隐喻、身份隐喻为主;隐喻以情感资源号召人民合力脱贫,以判断资源表达对人民品质的肯定,以鉴赏资源传递对所取成效价值的认可;隐喻英译主要通过等价性迁移、取舍性迁移及绝对零翻译策略实现认知与态度的等价传递。Metaphor subtly conveys the speaker's attitude,and its translation affects the transmission of the attitude in the original text.Based on the appraisal theory,this paper reveals the types and the attitude expression of metaphors contained in Poverty Alleviation:China's Experience and Contribution,and probes into the translation strategies in the target text.It is found that 1)metaphors in the source text mainly include war metaphors,road metaphors,body metaphors,metaphors with Chinese characteristics,and identity metaphors.2)Metaphors call on people to get rid of poverty with affective resources,express the affirmation of people's qualities with judgment resources,and convey the recognition of achievements with appreciation resources.3)The equivalent transfer of cognition and attitude is realized through equivalent translation,trade-off translation,and absolute zero translation.
