摘　　要：1931年10月,《时事新报》报馆当局以“经济支绌”为由分两次辞退编辑部人员共19人,随后又有7人因不满馆方胁迫而主动辞职。随着双方对立的升级,以上海新闻记者联合会为首的多个新闻界团体纷纷介入调解,使得报馆当局不得不同意赔偿退职金并复职部分人员。其实,《时事新报》编辑部人员被裁既非无故也非报社经营不佳,而是与宁粤双方在对峙之中争夺话语权的斗争密切相关。这是补充与拓展报刊史与近代政治研究的重要线索。In October 1931,the authorities of The New Newsletter dismissed a total of nineteen members from the editorial department on two occasions,citing"economic difflculties".Subsequently,seven individuals who were dissatisfied with the management’s coercion chose to resign voluntarily.As the confrontation escalated,various news organizations,led by the Shanghai Journalists Association,intervened to mediate the dispute.This led the management to agree to compensate the dismissed employees and reinstate some of them.In fact,the dismissal of the editorial staff of The New Newsletter was not unjustified or due to economic difficulties of the newspaper.Instead,they were closely related to the struggle for discursive power between the Ning and Guang factions during their confrontation.This provides an important clue for further research on the history of newspapers and modern politics.
