摘　　要：约翰·汤普森是剑桥大学社会学系媒介与文化研究领域的创始人,他认为激发社会学、社会理论和媒体研究之间的辩论和对话非常重要。首先,他认为媒介形塑现代社会,并提出“媒介化互动理论”,关注传播如何涉及各种行动和互动,以及这些行动和互动如何被媒体的使用所影响和塑造;其次,他认为数字革命是现代社会的一次根本性转型,互联网是这一过程的核心组成部分,并对现代社会产生广泛而深刻的影响,公众须对此保持警惕;最后,他认为传统媒体在塑造公共辩论中仍然发挥着重要作用,在线和离线媒体交织的复杂信息空间中,不同形式的媒体相互融合并相互影响。媒介素养可帮助人们批判性地思考、理解数字化社会的过程、机制如何塑造和影响媒体和传播。Professor John Brookshire Thompson is the founder of media and culture research pathway in the Department of Sociology,University of Cambridge.He emphasises the importance in facilitating the conversation and debate among sociology,social theory,and media studies.First,he believes that media have shaped modern society,and proposes the theory of mediated interaction,which focuses on how communication involves action and interaction,and how they are influenced and moulded by media use.Second,he regards the digital revolution as a fundamental transformation of modern society,and the Internet is a key component of this process,which impacts the modern society widely and profoundly.Third,he points out that traditional media still plays an important role in public debates.In the digital space interwoven with both online and oſtine media,different media forms converge.Media literacy help people in critical thinking and understanding how the process and mechanisms of digital society shape and influence media and communication.
