Objective To explore the effect of thyroid lobectomy in the treatment of benign thyroid tumors. Methods Sixty patients with benign thyroid tumors admitted to the Affiliated Hospital of Jiangnan University from September 2019 to October 2023 were non-randomly selected and divided into two groups according to the treatment plan, with thirty patients in each group. The observation group was treated with thyroid lobectomy, and the control group was treated with subtotal thyroidectomy. The levels of thyroid hormones,operation-related indicators, and the incidence of postoperative complications were compared between the two groups. Results The overall incidence of postoperative complications in the observation group was 3.33%(1/30),which was lower than 20.00%(6/30)in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(χ^(2)=4.043,P<0.05).The serum thyroid hormones and operation-related indicators of the observation group were better than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion Thyroid lobectomy is effective in the treatment of benign thyroid tumors.
