摘　　要：由上海世博会博物馆携手英国V&A博物馆策划的“与美为期——威廉·莫里斯与英国工艺美术运动”展,精选了V&A博物馆123件(套)典藏,呈现1890至1920年间,威廉·莫里斯引领的“英国工艺美术运动”。威廉·莫里斯(1834—1896)是19世纪英国著名的设计师、诗人、工匠、社会主义活动家。他出生于富裕家庭,早年在牛津大学学习神学。后来受到中世纪艺术和文学的启发,投身于艺术与设计领域。在设计理念上,他强调实用与美观的结合,注重材料的天然质感和手工技艺。This exhibition presents 123 pieces(sets)of treasures from the V&A Museum,which are closely related to the British Arts and Crafts Movement.Through three parts of“Motifs”,“Making”and“Society”,this exhibition helps visitors gradually learn more about the artistic thoughts of the British Arts and Crafts Movement under the leadership of William Morris,the Father of Modern Design.Every visitor can be impressed by extraordinary charm of the British Arts and Crafts Movement between 1890 and 1920.
