Autonomous sensory meridian response(ASMR)is a unique experience that induces a state of relaxation. It typically refers to the pleasurable and soothing sensations experienced by individuals when exposed to certain visual or auditory stimuli.ASMR has been shown to alleviate stress and help redirect thoughts away from the influence of anxiety.Anxiety,as a common psychological state among college students, has been extensively studied.Despite the effectiveness of existing treatment methods, some students continue to experience suicidal ideation or even engage in suicidal behaviors due to anxiety. This paper aims to explore the mechanisms of ASMR in addressing anxiety, providing a comprehensive review of domestic and international research on ASMR.It seeks to establish a foundation for the application of ASMR in psychological research, while also contributing to the prevention of psychological crises among college students, thereby promoting their mental and physical well-being.
