During the Ming dynasty, the eunuchs were not only active on the state politics but also had a profound and undeniable impact on social life and religious beliefs. The belief in Guan Gong holds a unique position in the ancient Chinese belief system, accepted by Confucianism,Taoism, and Buddhism, with a wide range of followers and numerous temples. The Ming dynasty was a period of rapid development and prosperity for the belief in Guan Gong.Eunuchs closely connected with this belief through various means such as issuing imperial decrees, conveying imperial will, constructing and managing royal temples dedicated to Guan Gong, funding private temples for worship, and building Guan temples for their own posthumous use.To explore the relationship between eunuchs and the belief in Guan Gong is significant for understanding the religious and social history of the Ming dynasty.
