摘　　要：“清末”这一时期是日本自过去的崇拜中国、视中国为“文明母国”到转向蔑视中国、视中国为“东洋专制”的一个重要时期。杨洪俊博士的论著《他者之镜:日本人笔下的清末上海·南京·武汉》聚焦这一时期,“白描式地”呈现了清末中国,尤其是上海、南京、武汉三大都市的景观与人物,也对这一时期的中国、中国人乃至中国的未来进行了整体概述,彰显出日本人将中国视为“他者之镜”的方法论内涵,对于当下的中国形象研究,尤其是世界场域内的中国形象建构具有极为重要的文献价值与启示意义。“The late Qing dynasty”is an important period in which Japan shifted from worshiping China as the“mother country of civilization”to contempt standpoint,and consider China as the“oriental despotism”.Dr.Hongjun Yang’s book The Mirror of the Other:The late Qing Dynasty in Japanese Study,Shanghai,Nanjing,and Wuhan regarding on this period,and it presents a“line-drawing style”of the landscape and people of late Qing dynasty China,especially the three major cities of Shanghai,Nanjing,and Wuhan.It also provides an overall overview of China,Chinese people,and even the future of China in this period.The book shows that revealing the connotation of the Japanese perception of understanding China as a“mirror of the other”,which is enriching literatures and inspiration on the study of China’s image nowadays,especially the construction of China’s image in the global arena.
