摘 要:中国经济已由高速增长阶段转向高质量发展阶段,提升企业出口产品质量是推动中国产业结构优化、打造制造强国和贸易强国的重中之重。本文以2000-2015年中国企业层面数据为样本,探究出口市场多元化与企业出口产品质量之间的关系,揭示信息成本、企业创新以及资源配置效率作为中介效应机制的传导作用。研究发现,市场多元化与中国企业出口产品质量呈现“U型”关系。异质性检验发现,国有企业、外资企业能更好地抵消市场多元化导致信息搜寻成本增加的负向效应并能更有效地接收市场多元化带来的正向效应,进而使得这些企业能更好地兼顾市场多元化与出口产品质量提升。另外,增加发达国家出口市场对企业提高产品质量的作用更强。中介效应模型结果表明,目的地信息成本是造成出口市场多元化、遏制企业出口产品质量提升的重要原因。调节效应结果表明,通过贸易中介出口能够帮助企业提高出口产品质量。本文不仅提供了影响企业出口产品质量升级新的理论视角,而且从信息效率的角度为企业提高出口产品质量提供了有益参考。China’s economy has shifted from the stage of high-speed growth to the stage of high-quality development,and upgrading the quality of enterprises’export products is a top priority to promote the optimization of China’s industrial structure and build a manufacturing power and a trade power.Taking Chinese firm-level data from 2000 to 2015 as a sample,this paper explores the relationship between export market diversification and firms’export product quality,and reveals the transmission role of information cost,firm innovation,and resource allocation efficiency as mediating effect mechanisms.The study finds that market diversification has a“U-shaped”relationship with the quality of Chinese enterprises’export products.The heterogeneity test reveals that state-owned enterprises(SOEs)and foreign-funded enterprises(FFEs)are better able to offset the negative effect of the increase in information search cost due to market diversification and receive the positive effect of market diversification more efficiently,which makes these enterprises better able to balance market diversification with the improvement of export product quality,and the increase in developed country’s export market is more effective for enterprises to improve the quality of their products.The results of the intermediation effect model indicate that the destination information cost is an important reason for export market diversification to curb enterprises’export product quality improvement.The results of the moderating effect show that exporting through trade intermediaries can help enterprises improve the quality of export products.This paper not only provides new theoretical perspectives affecting enterprises’export product quality upgrading,but also provides useful references for enterprises to improve export product quality from the perspective of information efficiency.
