摘　　要：This paper studies polygon simplification algorithms for 3D models,focuses on the optimization algorithm of quadratic error metric(QEM),explores the impacts of different methods on the simplification of different models,and develops a web-based visualization application.Metrics such as the Hausdorff distance are used to evaluate the balance between the degree of simplification and the retention of model details.
