摘　　要：GLP-1 agonists are popular weight loss and diabetes drugs.These drugs are peptide ligands that recognize the GLP-1 receptor,suppress appetite,and increase insulin sensitivity.Although not yet approved for human use,GLP-1 antagonists are peptides that bind to the same receptor and elicit opposite effects.In a recent issue of Molecular Plant,Zhang et al.(2024)elegantly demonstrate that two peptide ligands bind to one receptor with opposing effects on leaf senescence in Arabidopsis thaliana.
