“六经皆史”与“经史分立”——章太炎与廖平经史观之比较

摘  要:章太炎与廖平在经史观上存在显著差异。章太炎提出“六经皆史”,解构了传统经学的神圣地位,推动了学术研究的自由与开放,促进了学术范式的重构。廖平则坚持“经史分立”,认为经学与史学在性质、功能及价值取向上存在本质区别,并通过对微言大义的深入阐释,维护了经学的独立性与神圣性。两人经史观念的差异,从根本上而言,是源于对传统文化现代角色与价值的不同定位,以及对如何在新旧交替的时代背景下构建学术体系的不同主张。这一分歧,不仅是个人学术观点的交锋,更是中国近代学术转型过程中传统与现代之间张力的体现。Zhang Taiyan and Liao Ping exhibited marked differences in their interpretation of the Classics-History relation.Zhang Taiyan proposed that“the six classics are all history”,which deconstructed the sacred status of traditional Confucian classics,promoted freedom and openness in academic research,and facilitated the reconstruction of academic paradigms.While Liao Ping adhered to“the separation of classics and history”,argued that there existed basic differences between the two subjects in terms of their nature,functions,and research methods.Through in-depth interpretation of the subtle words with profound meanings,Liao upheld the independence and sanctity of the study of classics.The divergence in their thoughts fundamentally stemmed from their differing orientations to the role and value of traditional culture in modern time,as well as contrasting visions in constructing the academic system amidst the background of the transition from old to new.The comparison shows not only a clash of individual academic viewpoints,but also a manifestation of the tension between tradition and modernity during the transformation of modern Chinese academia.
