摘　　要：Xenophon records various kinds of religious matters in the Anabasis,such as sacrifices,portents and oath-taking witnessed by gods.These examples show the degree to which religion plays an important part in Greek military life.Xenophon's interest in religion is related to the utility of religion for commander,as he shows through examples how religion serves as an effective way of achieving military success and raising the army's morale.Moreover,his discussion of religion is also intertwined with the topic of leadership.The Anabasis casts Xenophon as a model leader who had closer relationship with gods and promoted the virtue of piety among his companions,and these principles for effective leadership are also reflected in his other works,such as the Cyropaedia and the Agesilaus.
