The pathogenesis and treatment of cervical spondylotic radiculopathy are the focus of medical research at present.Mitophagy is the process of removing or degrading damaged and aged mitochondrion.Mitophagy plays an important role in the occurrence and development of intervertebral disc degenerative change and neuropathic pain, and both intervertebral disc degenerative change and neuropathic pain are closely related to cervical spondylotic radiculopathy,so it is inferred that mitophagy is closely related to the onset of cervical spondylotic radiculopathy.According to traditional Chinese medicine, the main pathogenesis of cervical spondylotic radiculopathy is yang deficiency of spleen and kidney and blockade of phlegm-turbidity,which is similar to mitophagy at the microscopic level. Therefore, based on the theory of"Yang deficiency of spleen and kidney, blockade of phlegm-turbidity",this paper will explore the relationship between mitophagy and cervical spondylotic radiculopathy from the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine, providing a new direction and target for the research and treatment of cervical spondylotic radiculopathy.
