摘 要:服饰见证着时代的发展,从语言学的角度来看,服饰元素常常被用作隐喻,以具体的事物探寻、阐释抽象或陌生的概念。由于东西方文化差异,英汉两种语言在服饰隐喻的表达上各有千秋。作为一种认知手段和思维方式,隐喻可以有效丰富语言的形式和内涵,增加服饰语言的趣味性和灵活性。文章首先阐述隐喻的概念内涵及其研究历史,分析服饰隐喻与文化的关系,指出服饰隐喻是语言与文化交融的产物,其意义随着文化的演变而发展;其次对比英汉服饰隐喻的共性与差异,揭示两种语言在服饰表达上的独特性和文化内涵;最后从语义、语体、词语搭配、地域和语法等5个方面分析服装英语翻译中的文化差异,并提出相应的翻译策略。or unfamiliar concepts through concrete things.Due to cultural differences between the East and the West,both English and Chinese languages have their own strengths in expressing clothing metaphors.As a cognitive tool and way of thinking,metaphor can effectively enrich the form and connotation of language,increase the fun and flexibility of clothing language.The article first elaborates on the concept and connotation and research history of metaphor,and then analyzes the relationship between clothing metaphor and culture,pointing out that clothing metaphor is a product of the integration of language and culture,and its meaning develops with the evolution of culture;secondly,by comparing the similarities and differences in clothing metaphors between English and Chinese,the uniqueness and cultural connotations of the two languages in clothing expression are revealed;finally,cultural differences in clothing English translation are analyzed from five aspects:semantics,language style,word collocation,region,and grammar,and corresponding translation strategies are proposed.
