摘  要:当前,世界各国对环境和社会的可持续发展问题愈发关注。企业对环境、社会和治理因素(ESG)的重视以及由此构建的ESG优势,成为企业出口竞争的新优势,本文从市场声誉和贸易壁垒视角探索ESG影响企业出口的独特机制。研究结果表明:ESG显著提升了企业出口规模,且对最终品以及清洁品出口的促进效应更大;ESG促进企业出口沿着集约边际和扩展边际实现扩张;机制分析显示,迎合目的国消费者ESG偏好、扭转出口国市场声誉劣势以及克服目的国市场制度性准入壁垒与信息壁垒是ESG影响企业出口的内在机制;进一步分析显示,ESG有助于企业获取出口产品质量优势和出口产品定价优势。鉴于ESG在提高企业目的国市场声誉和应对市场准入壁垒方面的作用,提升ESG表现对于探索企业出口扩张的新动能具有重要意义。With the rising global emphasis on environmental and social sustainability,enterprises'increasing focus on Environmental,Social,and Governance(ESG)factors and the resultant establishment of ESG competencies have emerged as a novel source of competitive advantage in export markets.This paper examines the distinct mechanisms by which ESG performance influences enterprises'export scale,considering both market reputation and trade barriers.We find that ESG performance significantly enhances enterprises'export scale,with a stronger effect on the exports of final goods and clean goods.ESG promotes the growth of enterprise exports alongside both intensive and extensive margins.Mechanism analysis demonstrates that catering to destination-country consumers'ESG preferences,reversing the export country's market reputation disadvantage,and overcoming destination-country market institutional entry barriers and information barriers constitute the intrinsic mechanisms through which ESG influences enterprises'exports.Further analysis indicates that ESG helps enterprises gain quality and pricing advantages of export products.Given the role of ESG performance in enhancing enterprises'reputation in target countries and avoiding market entry barriers,enhancing ESG performance is crucial for identifying new drivers of export expansion for enterprises.
