Objective To investigate the effect of homocysteine(Hcy)on blood pressure variability(BPV)in patients with hypertension. Methods The clinical data of 120 hypertensive patients admitted to Ji'nan Tianqiao People's Hospital from January 2023 to June 2024 were retrospectively analyzed.According to the level of Hcy,they were divided into observation group(Hcy≥15μmol/L)and control group(Hcy<15μmol/L).The laboratory indexes and blood pressure at admission were compared between the two groups, and the influence of Hcy on BPV and other related indexes in hypertensive patients was analyzed. Results Blood Hcy,diastolic blood pressure at admission,24 h diastolic blood pressure,24 h systolic blood pressure standard deviation and 24 h diastolic blood pressure standard deviation in observation group were higher than those in control group(P<0.05).Conclusions The increase of blood Hcy level will increase the BPV of patients with hypertension. Therefore, during the treatment of hypertension,we should pay attention to the changes of blood Hcy,BPV and other indicators,so as to improve the safety and effectiveness of blood pressure management of patients.
