Objective To investigate the application effect of anticipatory stepwise nutritional management in patients with oesophageal cancer radiotherapy. Methods 100 cases of oesophageal cancer radiotherapy patients admitted to our hospital from July 2022 to July 2023 were selected and randomly divided into the control group(50 cases, conventional nutritional management)and the experimental group(50 cases, with the addition of anticipatory stepwise nutritional management). The two groups were compared in terms of nutritional status indicators, incidence and degree of radiation esophagitis(RE),and nursing satisfaction. Results At 3 months of intervention, body mass index(BMI),albumin(ALB),and haemoglobin(Hb)were elevated in both groups, and were higher in the experimental group(P<0.05).The experimental group had lower total incidence of RE,lower degree of RE grading, and higher total satisfaction than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Anticipatory stepwise nutritional management can improve the nutritional status of patients undergoing radiotherapy for esophageal cancer, reduce the incidence of RE,decrease the severity of RE,and improve patient satisfaction.
