摘  要:光盘存贮技术的优点是密度高,容量大,存取快,保存长。它给地图学者提供了一种完全新颖的制图介质,为计算机地图制图和地理信息系统的发展开辟了新的前景。本文简要介绍光盘存贮技术的原理与特点,目前光盘地图的研制和应用状况,及其在地图应用方面的潜力。The advantages of optical disc technology are high storage capacity, very rapid access, long standing and very wide application. Development and application of computer-assisted cartography and geography information system (GIS) depends on the support of mapping and spatial information data base. Building this data base is not only a complex work but also ex-pensive and needs lardge storage capacity for large volume spatial data handing. Optical disc technology provides a new means for computer-assisted cartography to solve these problems. This paper outlines the principle and format of optical disc storage and the status of video disc as a mapping medium, and emphasizes on the description of development and application of optical disc map in the following aspect: 1.Using optical disc storage to build a survey and map library for a country or district, including topographical and thematical maps at different scales being fed into the computer. The details of any map are stored in the library which can meet regular demands. 2.Using optical disc data base to process graphics for making thematicri maps,such as making base maps which are demanded by the user, employing data stored on the optical disc or real-time input to make statistic map that will show new information about the variances of elements quickly. 3. Building special GIS optical disc and video-atlas, including population census GIS, city streets GIS and military digital cartographical system disc. Data capture and storage ca-pacity have been resolved by applications of optical disc in cartography. Development of optical disc map will influence the traditional methods of mapping design and compilation. Maps, statistic graphics, satellite images, air photographs, mapping text, data sets can all be integrat-ed,composed and displayed in user-controlled sequences with sonic and two or three dimen-sional graphic.
