摘 要:本文从地震地方志史料、马湖堰塞湖现场考察、马湖地区地震地质环境以及已有的研究成果出发 ,对目前普遍使用的 12Examination of the historical earthquake data in local chronicles,field investigation at the Mahu Barrier Lake and of seismo geological environment in the Mahu area,and study of the research results made the authors to raise a question about the presently generally accepted epicentral location of the 1216 Mahu earthquake in Leibo County,Sichuan Province. From the available historical data and after analysis of the basic seismo geological environment,the epicentral location of the 1216 Mahu earthquake needs to be relocated. If we consider it only from the aspect of seismo geological environment,the 1216 Mahu M 7 0 earthquake could occur at a relatively far distance from the Xiluodu Power Station,i.e.,it occurred at the intersection of NW ,NE ,and nearly W E trending active structures in the Mabian Yanjin seismo active zone east of the power station,more possibly in the Yanjin Daguan area with clear deep tectonic environment.
