摘　　要：用一种简便的方法计算并分析了Jensen与Deering提出的两种非线性二波导耦合器,它们具有由两个非线性波导嵌入线性波导而成的类似结构,不同的是所用非线性波导材料分别具有二阶、三阶非线性.分析的结果有效地给出了耦合器的两个波导中强度和相位变化的信息,从而得到并比较了它们的开关特性,为设计二波导耦合器光开关提供了一种分析方法.A simple method is used to analyze transmission characteristics in the nonlinear two_guide couplers introduced by Jensen and by Deering. These two nonlinear couplers have similar configurations which consist of two identical waveguides embedded in a host with linear susceptibility. The difference is that the nonlinear waveguides are made of material with second_order or third_order susceptibilities respectively. The results provide us with information about the intensity variation and phase variation in the couplers, and the condition for satisfactory switching profile is analyzed and compared. This simple method is valuable for designing optical switching in the nonlinear two_guide couplers.
