摘　　要：As a new black hero, Bigger loses his self in the white-dominated society. This essay will focus on exploring and analyzing the motivations for the tragedy of the hero, Bigger Thomas. Racial conflict and contradiction and mass culture give rise to the occurrence of Bigger's tragedy. In summary, Bigger can be deemed as a native son of the merciless and cruel society.As a new black hero, Bigger loses his self in the white-dominated society.
